InIn a remarkable achievement, Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, the CEO of AC Mobility and a prominent leader within the Ayala Corp. conglomerate, has been selected as the sole Filipino representative in the esteemed Young Global Leaders (YGL) Class of 2024 by the World Economic Forum (WEF) based in Geneva.

Zobel de Ayala, aged 32, joins a distinguished cohort comprising nearly 90 dynamic and diverse youth leaders from various sectors worldwide, ranging from politics to business and civil society. The recognition bestowed upon him underscores his notable contributions to economic development and social welfare, placing him at the forefront of global leadership.

Ayala Corp. lauded Zobel de Ayala's visionary leadership, particularly emphasizing his pivotal role in propelling AC Mobility to spearhead the Philippines' transition towards electric vehicles (EVs). His efforts have not only positioned AC Mobility as the country's premier mobility ecosystem but have also identified it as a key growth engine for the Ayala Group, reflecting his strategic acumen and commitment to innovation.

Assuming the helm of AC Mobility in September 2023, Zobel de Ayala has navigated the company with expertise and foresight. His prior experience as the co-head of Ayala's strategy and development group equipped him with valuable insights into capital deployment processes for new ventures, further enhancing his capacity to drive sustainable growth and expansion.

Joining Zobel de Ayala are seven other new YGLs from Southeast Asia, including notable figures such as Vidhya Ganesan, managing partner of McKinsey and Co. Malaysia, Natasha Latiff, founder of Strategic Advocacy for Human Rights Inc. based in Singapore, and Shuyin Tang, CEO of Beacon Fund in Vietnam. Together, they represent a diverse spectrum of expertise and perspectives poised to address the world's most pressing challenges.

Ida Jeng Christensen, head of the Forum of Young Global Leaders, expressed confidence in the newly appointed YGLs, citing their innovative ideas and perspectives as valuable assets in tackling global issues.
