The top Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) firm in the nation, Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL), has chosen Zaved Akhtar to lead the Board of Directors. He has been chosen by the Board of Directors of Unilever Bangladesh Limited to serve as their chairman. The choice was made at the Board of Directors' 194th meeting, which took place on August 27.
Kedar Lele, who has held the position of chairman of UBL since 2020, will be replaced by Zaved, who is now the company's CEO and managing director. In addition to taking on his new job as chairman of the 60-year-old firm, Zaved will continue to manage the Bangladesh division. He will also be a part of the leadership team for Unilever in South Asia.
On this occasion, Rohit Jawa, president of Unilever, South Asia, and chief executive officer and managing director of Hindustan Unilever Limited, said, "I would like to thank Zaved for his outstanding leadership of our Bangladesh business. In his career spanning over two decades, Zaved Akhtar has worked in various roles in local, regional, and worldwide capacities, where he has displayed excellent commercial acumen, customer centricity, and leadership talents. He joined Unilever Bangladesh in 2000.
