Wipro, a key leader in the technology services and consulting sector, has named Brijesh Singh as Senior Vice President and Global AI Head for Wipro Enterprise Futuring in a strategic move targeted at strengthening its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

Brijesh Singh has almost three decades of experience in the technology consulting field. Brijesh Singh previously held the position of Senior Partner at Deloitte, where he was instrumental in leading the organization's AI and data-centric initiatives.

This announcement follows Wipro's recent announcement of a $1 billion investment in AI to diversify its revenue sources. Wipro ai360, the company's ground-breaking effort, is expected to bring together the experience of over 30,000 Wipro employees specializing in data analytics and AI. This joint initiative will work in tandem with Wipro's four global business lines' technology and advisory ecosystems.

Wipro said in July that it will teach its 250,000 workers on AI foundations and safe AI use over the next 12 months.

Brijesh Singh, who will lead Wipro's AI efforts, will drive the ai360 plan forward. His primary focus will be on building strong skills to facilitate and accelerate the use of AI throughout Wipro's broad portfolio. He also intends to provide clients with AI-first solutions, a big step toward the company's objective to incorporate ethical AI practices throughout all internal platforms, tools, and client offers.

Brijesh Singh's broad vision complements Wipro's ambitious objectives to improve its AI, data, and analytics capabilities. The $1 billion investment will be critical in strengthening Wipro's AI foundations, advancing research and development activities, bolstering the FullStride Cloud strategy, and nurturing new consulting competencies.
