VeteranVeteran banker Dharshanie Perera has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC, where she will serve as a Non-Executive Independent Director

Dharshanie Perera brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having spent 40 years in the banking industry, most recently as Assistant General Manager at Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC. Known for her people-centric approach, Perera has extensive expertise in Corporate, Retail, and SME lending, the digitization of banking products, credit monitoring, and banking operations.

During her tenure at Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Perera was a stalwart leader in the personal banking division, where she played a key role in devising strategic measures that enhanced banking products and aligned them with market expectations. Her efforts significantly contributed to bridging the gap between customer needs and the delivery capabilities of the local banking ecosystem.

Perera’s career is an inspiring example for women in the workforce. She began her journey in banking at an entry-level position and rose through the ranks due to her exemplary work ethic and commitment. Her latest appointment to the Pan Asia Banking Corporation board is a testament to her dedication and professional excellence.

In addition to her extensive practical experience, Perera holds a diploma and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers, Sri Lanka (IBSL). She is also a Fellow member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Credit Management (FICM) and the Chartered Professional Managers Institute (FCPM). Reflecting her expertise in brand building and strategy development, she is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM) in London, UK.

With her appointment, the Pan Asia Banking Corporation board now comprises Chairman M.Y.A. Perera, Deputy Chairman J.D.N. Kekulawala, CEO/Director E.M.N. Edirisinghe, B.D.A. Perera, S.A. Walgama, H. Ota, A.A.K. Amarasinghe, K.A.M.K. Ranasinghe, and M.D.D.D. Perera.
