U Power Limited Launches UOTTA to Revolutionize EV Battery Swapping

Separator

Youxu New Energy, a subsidiary of U Power Limited dedicated to renewable energy solutions, has introduced the UOTTA intelligent battery swapping system. This system offers battery-swapping solutions for various vehicles such as heavy trucks, light trucks, buses, taxis, etc. Currently, the battery-swapping technology for light four-wheeled electric vehicles (EVs) and two-wheeled EVs is undergoing validation in the Chinese market. The company intends to partner with entities in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Europe to introduce this service to local courier companies.

The technology for swapping and sharing batteries in two-wheeled and light four-wheeled EVs utilizes uniform battery cells and packaging techniques. These battery packs are housed in a unified Battery Swapping Station (BSS). Users can retrieve a single battery module for two-wheeled EVs or two to four modules for light four-wheeled EVs from this station when they require a battery swap. The process of swapping batteries is simple and user-friendly: customers verify their identity at the BSS using their mobile phone and then follow the prompts to access and swap their batteries.

The introduction of the UOTTA technology marks Youxu New Energy's effective resolution of the interoperability challenges among light four-wheeled EVs, two-wheeled EVs, Battery Swapping Stations (BSSs), and battery packs. This achievement enables seamless remote management through the unified UOTTA cloud platform. For users, as long as their EVs are connected to the internet, they can utilize the system to locate the nearest BSS, plan the optimal route, and even pre-book battery packs. These features guarantee a swifter and more streamlined battery-swapping service.

The battery swapping and sharing technology for two-wheeled and light four-wheeled EVs is poised to significantly benefit courier companies by providing them with more convenient and cost-effective options for building electric transportation fleets. By purchasing or leasing two-wheeled and light four-wheeled EVs without batteries and leasing batteries for these EVs based on a monthly or annual plan, these firms can save up to 30% in vehicle acquisition costs compared to previous purchasing methods. This approach also enables courier companies to save on the costs and time associated with charging without being concerned about battery degradation over time. As a result, the battery-swapping model can help delivery service providers enhance operational efficiency and lower operating expenses.

As battery technologies continue to advance, U Power Limited predicts that the scope of battery swapping and sharing technology will expand to encompass a more extensive array of vehicle models. Additionally, the firm expects this technology to enhance the appeal of the battery-swapping model, particularly within the realm of commercial transport vehicles.
