
The Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company PJSC Signs 2 Billion Deal with Microsoft

According to reports, the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company PJSC (du) announced a hyperscale data center agreement with Microsoft worth 2 billion dirhams ($544.54 million).
According to a statement from du, the hyperscale data center, which will be constructed and managed for approximately 2 billion dirhams, will feature Microsoft as the primary tenant, with its capacity being rolled out in stages.
Hyperscale centers are extensive facilities primarily utilized for offering data storage and cloud computing services to businesses on a large scale.
The agreement reached during Dubai AI Week, "marks a significant advancement in our strategic aim to transform the digital landscape of the UAE," stated Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du.
At present, du runs five data centers throughout the United Arab Emirates, which is making significant investments to establish itself as a global center for AI beyond the US.
Recently, Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Al-Zaabi of the United Arab Emirates met with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad.
In the meeting, they talked about the profound fraternal connections between the two nations and explored various mutual interests to further enhance the trade and economic relationship between the UAE and Pakistan.
Ishaq Dar recognized that the UAE has been a significant ally of Pakistan in several areas such as energy, refining, petroleum, and trade.
The Ambassador also acknowledged the UAE's desire to enhance investment across different sectors of Pakistan's economy. The Finance Minister expressed gratitude and welcomed the UAE's investment proposals in Pakistan, promising full support and cooperation from the government.
