Thailand Excels at ACES Awards 2024
The Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability (ACES) Awards 2024 highlighted Thailand’s rise as a leader in sustainable innovation and corporate responsibility. With 118 nominations out of 682 entries from 17 countries and a strong representation among 250 finalists, Thai businesses are redefining excellence by integrating growth, environmental stewardship, and community impact.
The event celebrated 59 outstanding business leaders and organizations for their exceptional contributions. Among them was Dr. Ausanee Mahagitsiri Leonio, President of KFU Company Limited, who was honored as an Outstanding Leader in Asia. Her visionary leadership of Krispy Kreme and Cinnabon during challenging times, including the pandemic, focused on innovation, corporate social responsibility, and employee well-being. Her approach not only drove business success but also reinforced strong community connections.
Sustainability was a key focus of the awards, with 34 companies recognized for their impactful efforts. Bangkok Life Assurance (BLA) received the Sustainability Rising Star Award for its 'Happy Ps' model, which delivered significant reductions in energy consumption, greenhouse gases, and paper usage while advancing financial literacy and health education. Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation was celebrated as the Top Sustainability Advocate in Asia, demonstrating a commitment to carbon neutrality by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050. Through regenerative agriculture, renewable energy initiatives, and community support, Mitr Phol exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to sustainable business practices.
Thai companies embedding social purpose at their core were also in the spotlight. Central Retail Corporation was recognized as a Top Community-Centric Company for its initiatives like the JingJai Farmers’ Market, which uplifts local farmers and empowers vulnerable groups, fostering self-sufficiency and environmental care. Frasers Property (Thailand) (FPT) was named among Asia’s Most Influential Companies, showcasing how sustainable urban development can align with net-zero carbon goals to benefit both investors and communities.
Financial institutions played a pivotal role in shaping the sustainability narrative. Krungthai Bank earned recognition as a Top Community-Centric Company for programs promoting economic resilience, environmental conservation, and social cohesion. CIMB Thai Bank was honored as a Sustainability Rising Star for advancing sustainable finance and supporting high-carbon sectors in transitioning to greener models while pursuing net-zero emissions targets.
The ACES Awards 2024 affirmed Thailand’s corporate sector as a catalyst for sustainable progress across Asia. From fostering financial innovation to promoting responsible food production and community-driven retail, Thai enterprises are rewriting the rules of corporate excellence.
