Teleport Revolutionizes Speedy Deliveries Between China and Southeast Asia

Teleport, the leading integrated logistics provider in Southeast Asia, announced at its inaugural media briefing in China today that it is facilitating quicker and more cost-effective delivery for eCommerce enterprises shipping between China and Southeast Asia. This is achieved through its extensive air network, which offers businesses advantageous pricing and enhanced connectivity throughout the region.

By 2027, cross-border eCommerce is projected to account for nearly one-third of total air cargo volume, a significant increase from less than 10% a decade ago. This growth is driven by rising demand from Asia, the US, and Europe, reflecting consumer interest in affordable Chinese products. China's B2C export eCommerce market is anticipated to double its gross merchandise volume (GMV) to 6.05 trillion yuan by 2027, up from 3.23 trillion yuan in 2022. Additionally, the freight market value between China and the top five Southeast Asian eCommerce hubs—Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, and Singapore—is expected to reach USD 3.8 billion by 2025.

Janson Peng, Commercial Country Head, Teleport China shared, “Today’s standard service level for eCommerce marketplaces to move cross-border parcels from China to consumers in Southeast Asia is approximately five days. One, to one and a half days for merchants to pack their parcels to reach the warehouse, and about four days between warehouse in China to destination warehouse in Southeast Asia. We have the ability to cut down the four-day delivery time between China and Southeast Asia to as fast as the next day, affordably”.

Teleport started its journey in 2018 by harnessing the combined belly space of all six airlines within the AirAsia group, establishing an exclusive network for cargo movement. Since 2019, Teleport has been operational in China, leveraging its hybrid fleet capacity and distinctive network and connectivity capabilities to expedite deliveries between China and Southeast Asia.

Pete Chareonwongsak, CEO of Teleport said “China and Southeast Asia today are already each other’s largest trade partners — We see this as an opportunity to contribute to this significant relationship by improving how eCommerce connects - specifically, moving parcels faster. Time-sensitive delivery between marketplaces and consumers is no longer a premium option. It is a consumer ask, and we are confident of our ability to deliver between China and Southeast Asia faster and cheaper. We have built our unique, multimodal network and hybrid fleet model, instead of a pure freighter play to move goods across Southeast Asia, to ensure that we deliver speed, at a favourable cost”.
