Tech Mahindra Names Atul Soneja As Chief Operating Officer
Atul Soneja has been named the chief operating officer (COO) by Tech Mahindra, beginning August 7, 2023. Soneja, who was formerly CitiusTech's COO, was probably going to be hired by Tech Mahindra. When Mohit Joshi, managing director and CEO-designate at Tech Mahindra, was president of the Bengaluru-based software company, Soneja was in charge of Edge Products at Infosys.
Soneja joined CitiusTech in July 2021 and assumed the role of chief operating officer, where he was in charge of overseeing operations, service lines, and overall delivery.
“On behalf of the Board and the entire team, I am happy to welcome Atul Soneja to Tech Mahindra. His rich experience and vast knowledge of the industry, combined with his relentless dedication to automation, make him an ideal candidate to lead our operations,” said CP Gurnani, MD and CEO, Tech Mahindra. “We are confident that Atul’s expertise will help us drive growth and enhance our capability to deliver innovative solutions,” he added.
Soneja held a number of leadership positions before joining CitiusTech, including managing multi-billion service lines across numerous industry segments, including financial services, retail, and manufacturing, and leading the AI and Automation platform business of Edgeverve, an Infosys subsidiary, where he conceptualized and oversaw a number of important strategic initiatives.
“We are happy to welcome Atul Soneja as our COO. He complements our high-performance culture, and his execution-focused approach, firm belief in extreme ownership and zeal to build a collaborative culture make him the perfect choice to lead our operations,” said Joshi.
The largest software services company, Tata Consultancy Services, was the first to replace leadership in the Indian IT sector over the past several months. This includes Joshi and Ravi Kumar, who served as executives at Infosys before joining Cognizant.
