State Street's Tech Unit Names APAC Head

CharlesCharles River Development, a prominent tech provider to investment managers and a subsidiary of State Street, has unveiled its latest appointment of an Asia Pacific head. Vin Bhat has been named Senior Vice President and Head of Asia Pacific, with a primary base in Singapore, as detailed in an official statement.

In his new capacity, Bhat assumes responsibility for overseeing all business operations within the Asia Pacific region, while also collaborating closely with State Street Alpha, an end-to-end asset servicing platform catering to institutional investors. Alongside his APAC duties, he will extend his oversight to encompass the Middle East and assume the role of Chair for the newly established Alpha APAC executive committee.

With an extensive career spanning over 25 years, Bhat brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to joining Charles River Development, he served as the Head of APAC Business at FactSet Research Systems and spent a decade at Tata Consultancy Services headquartered in Mumbai.

Charles River, renowned for its investment management front-office solutions, became part of State Street through an acquisition in 2018. As of January 2024, its Investment Management Solution serves clients across 30 countries, collectively managing assets totaling $59 trillion. This comprehensive suite of tools streamlines various aspects of the investment process, encompassing portfolio management, risk analytics, trading, and post-trade settlement.

The expansion of Charles River's team reflects its growing global presence, with the company now operating in 10 regional offices. Over the past five years, its headcount has surged by more than 120 percent, underscoring its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its clientele in an ever-changing financial landscape.
