ST Engineering and Royal Philips have unveiled a new strategic partnership aimed at delivering complementary digital health solutions for bedside support and capacity management. This collaboration will combine ST Engineering's operations command centre, robotics, and AI-enabled applications with Philips' clinical command centre. The goal is to drive measurable outcomes and advance digital transformation for healthcare providers in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, beginning with Singapore.

Announced at ST Engineering's annual InnoTech Conference, the partnership merges Philips' global expertise in remote health technology with ST Engineering's robust digital technology capabilities. The aim is to assist healthcare systems in bridging gaps in actionable data usage by leveraging real-time insights to enhance care access and patient flow. This focus is particularly relevant for APAC healthcare systems as they address challenges related to workforce shortages and rising demand to improve patient care.

"The lack of unified integration solutions are considerable barriers for hospitals seeking to improve productivity and operational efficiency, underscoring the need for digital health providers to collaborate and offer effective and interoperable digital health solutions. Partnering with Philips amplifies our collective expertise to synergise insights from both clinical and non-clinical data at scale, empowering healthcare informatics leaders to effectively transform care delivery models and optimise patient care resources", said Tan Bin Ru, President of Enterprise (Digital) at ST Engineering.

"Healthcare leaders in APAC are looking to build a cohesive patient story by bringing data from different sources together in a meaningful way to enhance their ability to provide timely and high-quality care to patients. We are excited to collaborate with ST Engineering to provide our complementary digital solutions to help healthcare providers stay ahead of these needs, intelligently connecting people, data, and technology to bring better care for more people in APAC", said Dan Ball, Head of Enterprise Informatics, Philips APAC.

According to Philips' Future Health Index 2024 survey of 600 healthcare leaders in APAC, 93% of respondents in the region and 84% in Singapore reported facing challenges with data integration within their organizations. Enhancing data accuracy, security and privacy, as well as improving interoperability between platforms and healthcare settings, were highlighted as crucial strategies for transforming data management to deliver timely and high-quality care.
