Sophia Hong Named Managing Director of Warner Chappell Music Korea

WarnerWarner Chappell Music Korea has named Sophia Hong as its new Managing Director, a role she assumes with immediate effect. Based in Seoul, Hong will report directly to Arica Ng, President of Warner Chappell Music for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

In her new position, Hong will lead Warner Chappell’s music publishing operations in South Korea, focusing on strengthening the company’s market position and driving business growth. Her responsibilities will include developing strategic initiatives and identifying potential growth avenues in both established and emerging markets.

Hong brings extensive experience from both corporate and start-up sectors, particularly in technology and intellectual property, having held leadership roles in high-profile organizations across the U.S. and Asia, including Kakao Corp, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Sesame Workshop.

Hong expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating, “Warner Chappell Music Korea is ideally positioned to serve as a global bridge to and for our local partners. The timing is right, and I am excited to join our talented team as we explore new initiatives”.

Her appointment underscores Warner Chappell’s commitment to enhancing its footprint in the South Korean music market, positioning the company as a key player in the region’s music publishing landscape.
