Sompo International names Paul O Neill to lead Commercial Lines Insurance business in APAC

Paul O'Neill has been named President of Commercial Lines, Insurance, Asia Pacific by Sompo International, a major global provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty (re)insurance. He will report to Julian James, CEO of Sompo International's Global Markets, Commercial P&C, and Daniel Neo, CEO of Sompo International, Asia Pacific. This month, he will begin in his new position, which will be situated in Singapore.

To support the company's ambitious growth objectives, Mr. O'Neill will be responsible for creating and implementing the strategy for Sompo International's commercial operations throughout Asia Pacific, excluding Japan.

At Howden Specialty, Mr. O'Neill most recently served as CEO for AsiaPac. Prior to that, he served as a member of the board of management and the chief specialty underwriting officer at AGCS. He started out as a Chemical and Risk Assessment Engineer before moving into worldwide underwriting positions in the marine and energy industries.
