Siri Pulipati Makes History as Rancho Cordova’s First Female Mayor

Separator

Rancho Cordova has entered a new chapter with the inauguration of its first female and South Asian mayor, Siri Pulipati. As she assumes office, Pulipati brings with her a strong history of community engagement and a forward-thinking agenda focused on technology and youth education.

In a statement shared with the City of Rancho Cordova News, she emphasized that her goal is not to hold the title, but to give back to the community she serves.

Pulipati's roots trace back to a South Asian family where emphasis on education was paramount, and where she was encouraged to pursue any path she desired.

Despite traditions often favoring sons, her parents ensured she knew her potential was limitless.

Her transcontinental journey for higher education saw Pulipati earn a master's degree in the United States, where she also met her now husband of almost 25 years.

After settling in the City of Rancho Cordova, Siri Pulipati's career journey took her from academia to real estate and eventually to a technical marketing role at Intel. However, it was her passion for community engagement that truly defined her path. What began as a volunteer activity evolved into a strong commitment to making a meaningful impact on a larger scale.

As mayor, she plans to leverage her engineering background to foster a "smarter, more connected, and more sustainable", City of Rancho Cordova, bringing innovation and empathy together in governance.

Pulipati told the audience at a local luncheon that leadership is about the community—a sentiment reinforced by her commitment to making her city a beacon of progress.

As Siri Pulipati marks 25 years with her college sweetheart and begins her mayoral journey in 2025, she is eager to apply her expertise in electrical engineering, along with her experience as an educator and mother. The new mayor outlines a vision that blends technological innovation with fostering the growth of Rancho Cordova’s youth.
