Samsung Electronics Names CU Kim as President & CEO for Southeast Asia & Oceania
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced the appointment of Mr. CU Kim as President and CEO of Southeast Asia & Oceania. Mr. Kim brings over two decades of leadership experience in Samsung Electronics businesses across multiple geographies, including the Middle East and Latin America. He will be responsible for defining and steering Samsung Electronics's next phase of growth in one of the most exciting economic regions globally.
Samsung Electronics is dedicated to sustained growth in the rapidly developing Southeast Asia and Oceania (SEAO) region. This growth is fueled by the digital aspirations of a young and emerging generation, along with a booming digital economy supported by e-commerce. Simultaneously, cities and industries in SEAO are experiencing ongoing digital transformation, with AI serving as a key catalyst.
Mr. Kim is excited to be in the driving seat in optimizing the significant growth potential of the SEAO region, and to bring the Samsung Electronics business and industry leadership to new heights. Mr. Kim joined Samsung in the late 2000s, beginning his career in the Middle East and spending nearly a decade in Latin America. Most recently, he served as President of Samsung Electronics in Brazil from 2022 to 2024, where he demonstrated a strong track record of driving innovation and growth, with a deep passion for enhancing customer experience through innovative technology. Previously, Mr. Kim held various roles at Samsung, including positions in Panama (2018-2020), Mexico (2016-2018), Brazil (2013-2016), and Tehran (2005-2010).
