Qualcomm Names Savi Soin As President For India Operations

Rajen Vagadia left his position as Qualcomm's president of the SAARC and India operations to accept a position in a global capacity. Savi Soin has been named the new leader of Qualcomm's business in India. He was the San Diego-based senior vice president of strategy and commercial development up until recently. As a finance manager, Soin joined Qualcomm in 1999 and worked there until 2005. Later, he became vice president and general manager of Kyocera Wireless Corp. Since joining Qualcomm in 2006, he has performed a variety of duties for the organization.

In 2018, Vagadia accepted the position of Qualcomm India's country manager. In the telecom sector, he has more than 30 years of expertise in a variety of roles, including production, business development and sales, supply chain management, and strategy. Since joining Qualcomm in 2011, he has played a significant part in accelerating LTE expansion for India and expanding potential for nearby enterprises there. He oversaw the Internet of Things' (IoT) commercial development in all related fields, including smart cities.

Prior to joining Qualcomm, Vagadia had local and regional executive-level positions in business development and outsourcing at Motorola, Tata Teleservices Ltd, Elcoteq, and Reliance Infocomm Ltd. He has worked for contract manufacturers, carriers, OEMs, and ODMs that are based in India. Early in his career, he started his own business and supplied telecom equipment to the Indian and SAARC markets.
