Qantas Names Nick McGlynn as Executive Vice President - Asia
Qantas, the Australian airline, has announced the appointment of Nick McGlynn as the new Executive Vice President for Asia, effective in the coming weeks. Nick currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Jetstar Japan.
In his upcoming role, Nick will be stationed in Singapore, where he will oversee the commercial, financial, and operational aspects of Qantas across Asian markets. With nearly four decades of experience in global aviation, Nick brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding of both Qantas and the aviation industry in Asia.
Having held various senior positions within Qantas, including Airport Manager in Singapore, General Manager in China, and Chief Customer Officer for Freight, Nick has demonstrated his capability in managing diverse aspects of the airline's operations.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Nick stated, "I’m excited to return to Singapore to work with the talented and passionate teams who are making Qantas successful across the region. Asia is such an important market for the Qantas Group". He also highlighted his anticipation to reconnect with key partners and drive initiatives aimed at enhancing customer experiences.
Asia holds significant importance for Qantas, with the airline operating more than 130 return services per week between Asia and Australia, utilizing a fleet comprising A380, A330, 737, and 787 aircraft. Notably, Qantas also operates direct flights between Singapore and London, further solidifying its presence in the region.
The appointment of Nick McGlynn underscores Qantas' commitment to strengthening its position in the Asian market and enhancing its operational efficiency and customer service.
