PrudePrudential has named Chan San San as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prudential Singapore, effective September this year, pending regulatory approval. Chan will also oversee Prudential Financial Advisers Singapore and report to Dennis Tan, Managing Director of the Strategic Business Group, with oversight responsibilities for Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Chan succeeds Tan, who joined Prudential Singapore as CEO in February 2020 after a distinguished career at OCBC Bank and Citi. In July 2022, he transitioned to his current role overseeing the strategic business group.

Chan brings over 20 years of experience from her tenure at Citi, where she served as Managing Director and Global Market Manager at Citi Private Bank. She has extensive expertise in private banking for ultra-high net worth and high net worth clients across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Her professional background encompasses strategy, sales, marketing, client management, product management, strategic innovation, transformation, governance, and risk management.

Expressing his enthusiasm about Chan's appointment, Tan stated, "I am delighted to welcome San San to Prudential. She brings extensive regional experience to the table, with a deep understanding of customers, paired with a breadth of consumer financial services experience in Singapore".

In her new role, Chan will manage Prudential Singapore’s distribution network, which includes over 5,200 financial representatives and partnerships with United Overseas Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. Her leadership is expected to enhance Prudential’s market position by leveraging her comprehensive understanding of client needs and financial strategies.

Chan is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy with a minor in business law from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her appointment is anticipated to bolster Prudential’s strategic initiatives and drive growth in the region.
