Porsche China Launches New Technical Department, Appoints Li Nan as VP
Porsche China has officially appointed Li Nan as Vice President of the Technical Department, reinforcing the ‘In China, For China’ development strategy. The newly created Technical Department will also oversee local procurement and quality assurance, coordinating Porsche’s R&D initiatives in China while reporting directly to the CEO of Porsche China.
Sajjad Khan, a member of the Executive Board of Porsche AG and Head of Vehicle IT, stated: "Li Nan has rich market experience and technical expertise, which will assist us in strategically expanding vehicle development in China. His extensive knowledge in the fields of electrical/electronic and software development will be a significant support in our deep understanding of the diverse needs and expectations of Chinese customers".
Porsche China President and CEO Jens Puttfarcken stated, "Li Nan's appointment further underscores our long-term commitment to the Chinese market. We believe that as a local expert deeply rooted in the Chinese market, Li Nan's insights and professional capabilities will accelerate Porsche's product upgrades in areas such as vehicle connectivity and smart driving".
Before joining Porsche, Li Nan held a senior role at Mercedes-Benz, bringing a wealth of experience in infotainment, big data, and artificial intelligence. His expertise will significantly contribute to Porsche's product development and understanding of customer needs in China. To ensure smooth integration between the R&D teams in Shanghai and the Weissach R&D center, Li Nan has spent the past six months working at the R&D headquarters in Germany. There, he reported directly to Sajjad Khan and collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to foster synergies and ensure efficient knowledge transfer.
