PIMCO Appoints Benjamin Ferguson As MD

Benjamin Ferguson has been appointed Managing Director, Co-Head of Japan and Head, Client & Business Management Japan at PIMCO, one of the top fixed income investment managers in the world with extensive knowledge of both public and private markets.

Mr. Ferguson will be in charge of client management and business management tasks as well as PIMCO's expansion plan in Japan. Client management, marketing, law, compliance, operations, finances, and human resources are all included in this. Tomoya Masanao, Managing Director, Co-Head of Japan, and Co-Head of Asia Pacific Portfolio Management, who will continue to lead Japan and oversee portfolio management throughout Asia-Pacific, will collaborate with Mr. Ferguson in this position.

With more than 24 years of experience in the financial industry in Japan and Hong Kong, Mr. Ferguson has held a number of positions in the hedge funds, fixed income, and equity markets. On September 5, he will start working for PIMCO and report to Alec Kersman, Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific at PIMCO.
