Park Sang-won Appointed Director of South Korea's Financial Security Institute

ParkPark Sang-won has been appointed as the new director of South Korea's Financial Security Institute. The announcement was made following the institute's general assembly on December 31, with the official confirmation released on January 2. Park, who previously served as deputy governor at the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), will take on the role as the 5th director of the institute.

Born in 1970, Park graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in economics. He began his career at the Bank of Korea in 1991, later transitioning to the FSS in 2000. Over his tenure at the FSS, Park held key positions, including head of the Financial Group Supervision Department, head of the Bank Risk Management Department, and deputy governor for planning and management. He also served as deputy governor overseeing small and medium-sized enterprise and low-income financial services.

Park's appointment is effective immediately, and his term as director of the Financial Security Institute will run for three years. His extensive experience in financial oversight and management is expected to contribute significantly to the institute's goals of enhancing financial security in South Korea.
