Microsoft has announced the launch of the second phase of the Microsoft AI Pinnacle Program, introducing new initiatives aimed at facilitating the adoption of AI-powered solutions by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), ultimately driving transformative changes across various industries.

Under a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MOU), Microsoft, Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), and AI Singapore (AISG) will collaborate to assist SMEs in enhancing productivity through the utilization of Microsoft Copilot. The objective is to empower over 1,000 SMEs in the next two years to leverage AI innovation for their business growth.

Additionally, Microsoft and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) have entered a Memorandum of Intent (MOI) to support SMEs and technology vendors in harnessing generative AI (GenAI). This partnership will enable digitally mature Singapore enterprises to bolster their GenAI capabilities and develop customized GenAI solutions. Over 200 digitally mature Singaporean SMEs are expected to benefit from this collaboration over the next two years. Furthermore, Microsoft and IMDA will aid technology providers in enhancing their solutions with AI capabilities to facilitate broader AI adoption among SMEs.

Microsoft and LinkedIn’s 2024 Work Trend Index revealed that knowledge workers in Singapore are leading in AI adoption compared to their global counterparts, with nearly 88% of Singaporean knowledge workers already utilizing AI at work, in contrast to 75% globally. Despite this, 83% of Singaporean leaders recognize the need for AI adoption for competitiveness, while 68% express concerns about the lack of a clear AI implementation plan within their organizations.

Ms. Lee Hui Li, Managing Director of Microsoft Singapore, emphasized Microsoft's commitment to supporting organizations of all sizes in driving AI transformation through the AI Pinnacle Program. By collaborating with Enterprise Singapore, AI Singapore, and IMDA, Microsoft aims to expand the program's focus to enable SMEs with varying levels of digital maturity to adopt AI technology effectively, fostering productivity gains and tangible business impacts.
