The Saudi Arabian government has placed a significant order with Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an Indian engineering and construction company, for the development of a 525kV High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission segment. According to L&T, this link is a component of a big capacity, voltage source converter (VSC)-based HVDC system that connects Neom Industrial City and Yanbu city in western Saudi Arabia. The order, which is in the range of Rs10 billion ($122 million) to Rs25 billion ($305 million), was confirmed.

The leading construction company has also secured sizeable orders from India and Malaysia. The business has received a contract from a consortium to build a 275kV substation in Malaysia's Sarawak region.

As per report, after the project is finished, it will contribute to increasing the dependability of the power supply in significant load centers along Borneo's northwest coast. In India, the L&T subsidiary has been awarded contracts to develop a 400kV Double Circuit Transmission Line in Jharkhand and to implement SCADA/DMS and related IT infrastructure for urban area power distribution systems in central Gujarat.

With operations in engineering, manufacturing, construction, information technology, financial services, and technology, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., also known as L&T, is an Indian multinational conglomerate with headquarters in Mumbai. The business is ranked among the top five construction firms worldwide.
