Lio Chi Chong Named Acting Director of Macau's DICJ
According to the Macau government’s Official Gazette, Deputy Director Lio Chi Chong has been appointed as Acting Director of the city’s gaming regulator – the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).
The announcement also confirmed that Lio was appointed to the interim role by Secretary for Economy and Finance Tai Kin Yip on 26 December 2024, marking his title as “Acting Director of Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau”.
His delegated authority includes signing, in the name of the Macau SAR, all official documents relating to contracts entered into within the scope of DICJ duties.
His interim appointment comes after Macau’s principal officials under new Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai assumed their duties in late December, including O Lam as Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Tai Kin Ip as Secretary for Economy and Finance, Tam Wai Man as Secretary for Transport and Works, Ao Leong U as director of the Commission of Audit and Ao Leong Sheong as Commissioner of the Commission Against Corruption.
Adriano Ho, who served as the Director of the DICJ for the past four and a half years, was appointed Macau Customs Commissioner on December 20. However, his previous role at the DICJ has remained vacant since then.
