Lilium Inks Partnership With China Based Shenzhen Eastern To Acquire Lilium Jets
A deal with Shenzhen Eastern General Aviation Co., Ltd., a significant low-altitude general aviation carrier and helicopter service provider in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area of China, was announced by Lilium N.V., the creator of the first all-electric vertical take-off and landing jet.
Heli-Eastern, which has operations in the Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Areas, aims to order 100 Lilium Jets under the terms of the deal. The contract also stipulates that Heli-Eastern and Lilium will work together to find prospective locations and collaborators for Lilium's vertiports and other ground infrastructure. Heli-Eastern will fly the Lilium Jet in the area after it has received type certification and will take care of crewing and maintenance.
Additionally, Lilium signed an MOU with the Bao'an District of Shenzhen municipality to establish a regional office to serve as the organization's representative for Lilium Jet sales, services, and support throughout China and the Asia-Pacific area.
Lilium CEO Klaus Roewe commented: “We are excited about Lilium’s expansion into China with such well-established local partners like Heli-Eastern. We see significant potential for Lilium’s eVTOL network in the Greater Bay Area, both to reach this important premium market, as well as to offer the sustainable, time-saving benefits of the Lilium Jet to as many people as possible.”
Heli-Eastern Chairman Zhao Qi stated: "By working with Lilium, we are bringing China's future of sustainable air mobility. Our customers can travel fast and sustainably throughout the Greater Bay Area and beyond thanks to Lilium's premium cabin design and cutting-edge electric jet technology.
With the release of this information, Lilium's order funnel for 745 Lilium Jets from numerous clients in Europe, South America, the Middle East, the United States, and Asia has increased.
