Lilium, the pioneer of the first all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jet, and PhilJets, a prominent aviation provider offering global services in the ASEAN region, have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement entails the purchase intention of 10 Lilium Jets, along with a prospective strategic partnership aimed at establishing an eVTOL operation network spanning the Philippines and other Southeast Asian nations like Cambodia.

The Lilium Jet is specifically designed to address the unique transportation needs of the Philippines. Lilium's approach to regional air mobility aligns seamlessly with the requirements of eVTOL service in the Philippines and underscores the potential for similar solutions in other island nations worldwide. PhilJets presently manages a fleet consisting of 15 private jets and helicopters and aims for further expansion within the next three years. With over a decade of experience, PhilJets has established itself as a cornerstone in the Philippines' aviation industry.

Through the fusion of PhilJets' extensive market knowledge in the ASEAN region and Lilium's groundbreaking eVTOL technology, this partnership aims to revolutionize regional air mobility throughout the area. The Philippines and Cambodia are positioned for significant advancements in aviation decarbonization, particularly as both capital cities proceed with the construction of new major airports in Bulacan and Phnom Penh.

Thierry Tea, Chairman, PhilJets, said, "Our team is proud to collaborate with Lilium on the mission to transform the Philippines´ mobility with eVTOLs. With its growing economy, geography and important tourism industry, the Philippines is a great match to the Lilium Jet´s capabilities. Innovation in aviation is gaining traction among regulators, urban planners and industry leaders of worldwide economies. Providing efficient connectivity to customers while reducing carbon emissions is a major focus for air transport operators such as PhilJets. We are also looking forward to bringing this technology into Cambodia and other countries in the region".

Sebastien Borel, Chief Commercial Officer, Lilium, said, "Our strategic partnership with PhilJets will expand our footprint even further in Asia, bringing the Lilium Jet to Southeast Asia. The Philippines is well suited for eVTOLs to effectively connect thousands of islands together through sustainable and high-speed air mobility.
