KromaKroma, a leading Layer 2 blockchain solution provider, has successfully completed its Series A funding round, attracting investments from a diverse group of prominent backers. The funding round saw participation from Asia Advisors Korea, Gate Ventures, ICC Venture, Planetarium, Presto, RFD Capital, Taisu Ventures, The Spartan Group, Waterdrip Capital, and several other strategic partners. This influx of capital underscores investor confidence in Kroma’s innovative approach and strategic vision within the blockchain industry.

As Asia’s foremost Layer 2 solution, Kroma is dedicated to making Web3 technology more accessible through intuitive and gamified decentralized applications (dApps). Built on the OP Stack, Kroma stands out as the first Ethereum Layer 2 solution to implement zk fault proofs, establishing a permissionless network for validators. The network leverages its modular zero-knowledge (zk) proving library, Tachyon, to enhance transaction speeds and reduce gas fees, making zk proof generation both faster and more cost-effective.

Kroma is also at the forefront of advancing Native Account Abstraction (AA) within the Superchain ecosystem, aiming to deliver a seamless Web3 gaming experience. With over 81 partners, including major players like SK Planet, Xangle, and Hexlant, Kroma is significantly impacting the realms of gaming, decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and beyond. The company’s technology contributions are pivotal in driving forward the adoption and integration of Web3 solutions.

In a notable development, Kroma has recently restructured its shareholding framework, transitioning from a subsidiary of Wemade to a broader base of shareholders and partners, primarily centered around the company’s founders and management team. This strategic shift positions Kroma to accelerate its global business initiatives, backed by a more diverse range of stakeholders.

Despite this transition, Kroma will continue its collaboration with Wemade on various projects to foster the growth of the Gamified Web3 ecosystem. In addition to securing key investors such as ICC Venture, ISKRA, Overtake, Planetarium, Wellxy, and XStar, Kroma is poised to leverage these partnerships to drive continued innovation and expansion within the industry.

The capital raised through this Series A round will be directed towards further advancing Kroma’s infrastructure, with a particular focus on expanding its functionalities and enhancing platform development. Kroma’s applications are designed to cater to a wide audience while maintaining rigorous standards of security and operational efficiency.

Kroma’s CEO, Taekyu Park, commented on the successful funding round, stating, “This investment reflects strong confidence in Kroma’s technology and strategic direction. We are eager to leverage this funding to continue enhancing our Layer 2 solutions, ensuring we deliver efficient and secure blockchain services”.

Kroma’s forward-thinking approach and technological innovations have garnered significant attention from the investment community. The funds raised will play a crucial role in scaling the company’s operations, integrating new features, and solidifying Kroma’s position as a leader in the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape.
