KB Financial Group Chairman selected as GFANZ Advisor

KB Financial Group announced on June 10 that its chairman Yoon Jong-kyu became an Asia-Pacific advisor in the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ).

The GFANZ was set up in April last year for carbon reduction and climate change response in the financial industry. Its Asia-Pacific office and advisory committee are located in Singapore. The committee members include Singapore Central Bank Governor Ravi Menon, Asian Development Bank Secretary General Um Woo-jong and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Secretary General Jin Liqun.

On June 9, the chairman of KB Financial Group had a meeting in Seoul with Danish Climate Ambassador Tomas Anker Christensen and Danish Ambassador to South Korea Einar Jensen to discuss financial companies’ role in carbon neutrality efforts.
