Jordan's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources signed four memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Kawar Energy, Philadelphia Solar Energy Company, Amarenco MENA Services, and German business Enertrag to build green hydrogen projects in the Arab nation.

Although Philadelphia, a local company, anticipates producing between 100,000 and 200,000 tpa of green ammonia, Jordan-based Kawar Company aims to produce 100,000 tpa. In a statement, Jordan's Ministry of Energy stated that the Memorandum of Understanding with the German company Enertrag intends to create 200,000 tpa of green ammonia, while the one with Amarenco wants to produce 1 million tpa.

The Ministry anticipates that these companies will sign framework agreements with it after they complete a year-long feasibility study for the green hydrogen projects. The statement also stated that the nation has already inked three Memorandums of Understanding and plans to ink five more during COP28 in the United Arab Emirates this month.
