JazzCash, a prominent Pakistani fintech firm, has recently forged a significant partnership with du Pay, a financial services provider based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to facilitate cross-border payments. This collaboration, marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU), represents a groundbreaking move, being the first of its kind between a Pakistani fintech entity and du Pay. The primary aim of this partnership is to streamline the process of transferring funds from the UAE to Pakistan, recognizing the crucial role of remittances from the large Pakistani expatriate community in the Gulf nation.

The UAE stands as the second-largest contributor of remittances to Pakistan, following Saudi Arabia, with a substantial $548 million transferred in March alone. Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, underscored the importance of these remittances for Pakistan's economic stability and emphasized the commitment to leveraging technology for financial inclusion. Through this collaboration with du Pay, JazzCash aims to simplify payment procedures for Pakistanis globally, thereby bolstering economic growth.

Du Pay, licensed by the UAE Central Bank, offers a wide range of services including international money transfers, peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers, mobile top-ups, bill payments, and salary deposits via an IBAN. This partnership between JazzCash and du Pay is not just a one-time agreement but signifies a strategic alliance aimed at exploring new avenues of cooperation. Both entities intend to capitalize on their respective strengths to drive innovation and expand JazzCash's presence in UAE markets.

Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, expressed confidence in the partnership, highlighting their commitment to delivering top-notch services to customers. He emphasized that the collaboration would result in a simplified and secure digital service, promoting financial inclusion and positively impacting the lives of Pakistani nationals. Overall, this partnership between JazzCash and du Pay represents a significant step towards facilitating seamless cross-border transactions and fostering economic growth in Pakistan.
