Saudi Arabia and Japan recently signed over 30 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) spanning energy, manufacturing, and financial activities. These agreements were formalized during the Saudi Arabia-Japan Vision 2030 Business Forum in Tokyo.

Among the speakers at the forum were Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih. In his address, Al-Falih highlighted the significant growth in Saudi Arabia’s non-oil revenue, which has doubled. He stated that the country is seeking an accumulated investment exceeding $3 trillion, presenting substantial opportunities for Japanese investors.

Sara Al-Sayed, Deputy Minister of Investment for International Partnerships, also addressed the forum. She emphasized Saudi Arabia's intentions to deepen its collaboration with Japan under the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030 initiative, aiming to elevate the partnership to new heights.

Minister of Information Technology and Communication Abdullah Al-Swaha spoke during the “Digital Entertainment Roundtable,” another key event of the forum. The forum saw the participation of over 300 business and industry leaders from both Saudi Arabia and Japan, as well as government officials. The primary goal of the forum was to enhance bilateral trade, investment, and cultural relations between the two nations.

Japanese Minister of Industry Ken Saito also participated in the forum, meeting with senior Saudi officials, including Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, and senior executives from Saudi Aramco and other major Saudi companies. In his remarks, Saito acknowledged Saudi Arabia as Japan’s largest crude oil supplier and a crucial partner in energy security.

The forum served as a platform to reinforce the strong economic ties between Saudi Arabia and Japan, emphasizing their mutual commitment to expanding cooperation in various sectors. The signing of these MoUs marks a significant step towards achieving the goals outlined in the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030.
