Invest India Appoints Nivruti Rai As MD and CEO
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that Nivruti Rai, a former executive of Intel India, had joined as the organization's managing director and CEO. Manmeet K. Nanda, Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), who had taken on this additional job in March 2023, handed over the reins to her. Deepak Bagla left his position at Invest India and was replaced by Nanda, who stated "personal reasons" for his resignation. Following an examination of Invest India's under his management operations, Bagla resigned from his leadership position.
The renowned Nari Shakti Puraskar was awarded to Rai for her services to the technology industry. She worked as a global business and technology leader for Intel for 29 years. She oversaw the expansion and investment of Intel in India for the previous seven years as Country Head. According to the ministry, Rai made a major contribution to the development of domestic technology, the start-up ecosystem, the electronics manufacturing ecosystem, and policy formulation during her time at Intel India, particularly in the fields of critical and emerging technologies.
She has a wealth of experience working closely with industry groups, business executives, and government leaders. She has been on the leadership team in a number of industrial bodies and government committees.
