In order to work together and support the upcoming Seatrade Maritime Logistics Middle East (SMLME) event, the centrepiece of the UAE Maritime Week, Informa Markets and the National Association of Freight and Logistics (NAFL) have teamed together. The Dubai World Trade Centre will host the event, which is sponsored by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, from May 16 to May 18, 2023.

Given its considerable experience in assisting the logistics business in the UAE, NAFL wants to use this relationship to promote the SMLME's recently adopted logistics component. In order to increase the event's value to the local, regional, and international maritime industries, the association aims to offer strategic support. In accordance with the contract, NAFL will use its extensive network of business experts to advertise SMLME, and Informa Markets will designate NAFL as a "Supporting Organization" for the occasion.

In light of the UAE's position as a significant regional and international commercial hub with some of the busiest ports in the world, including Jebel Ali Port and Khalifa Port, Nadia Abdul Aziz, President of NAFL, emphasised the need of assisting logistics firms in the country. The logistics business in the country is a multi-billion dollar one that is expanding quickly each year. The NAFL intends to give its members the chance to network with colleagues, engage with industry leaders, and learn about new business opportunities through its partnership with Informa Markets for SMLME.

According to Sudesh Chaturvedi, Secretary-General of NAFL, their involvement in SMLME as a Supporting Organization demonstrates their dedication to advancing players in the logistics and shipping industries. He expressed certainty that the collaboration will help them reach a larger audience, highlight NAFL's contribution to the sector's expansion, and realise their objectives.

The advantages of having NAFL's backing for SMLME were emphasised by Emma Howell, Middle East Development Director of Informa Markets Maritime & Cruise portfolio. With more than 30 years of experience creating a huge network of logistics businesses, NAFL can offer insightful information on the particular requirements and worries of industry participants, which will help in the planning of event sessions. With this knowledge, the event will be better positioned to serve as a think tank for the industry and provide attendees with more value.

Chris Morley, Group Director of Seatrade Maritime, was delighted to learn that NAFL was supporting SMLME and thought that the partnership will result in a world-class event. As a result of NAFL's broad member network's promotion of the event, they anticipate sizable attendance from logistics firms around the Middle East and the United Arab Emirates, solidifying the event's status as "the place to be" for the region's maritime and logistics industry.
