India Positioned At The Forefront Of Digital Innovation, Says US Ambassador
With its enormous population, flourishing digital economy, and technological use, India is ready to embrace the revolutionary power of 5G, and in the future 6G, to catapult itself to the forefront of digital innovation, according to US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti on Tuesday.
Garcetti called trust a "absolute necessity" for 5G, and said India and the US are committed to working together on it. With its G20 presidency this year, India will not only promote the implementation of trusted solutions and architecture among emerging nations, but will also become an important element of the supply chain to derisk the world.
Garcetti stated at the inaugural ceremony of the US-India 5G and next generation networks workshop that the two countries know that technology is more than just higher speeds or greater connectivity, but also a gateway to growth and a reflection of development.
"India, with its vast population, thriving digital economy, and use of technology that is in some ways leapfrogging other nations around the world, is poised to leverage the transformative power of 5G and 6G... to catapult itself to the forefront of the digital revolution," the US Ambassador said at a workshop hosted by the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
