IDEX Biometrics Partners With Malaysian Based MCS To Develop Next Gen Biometric Smart Cards

MCS Microsystems (MCS) and IDEX Biometrics are collaborating to create next-generation multi-application biometric smart cards. MCS is a Malaysia-based, technology-focused smart card solution provider that has enabled more than 30 national identification projects and 50 million users worldwide, mostly for government ID and healthcare. 

MCS biometric smart cards for identity access will use cutting-edge fingerprint technology from IDEX Biometrics. The collaboration represents IDEX Biometrics' continuous expansion in Asia Pacific, a substantial and expanding market opportunity.

MCS's multi-application smart cards are based on the most recent sensor solution from IDEX Biometrics, ensuring rapid, accurate, and seamless authentication. With high-assurance performance and biometric matching enhancing performance and security for trusted ID solutions, IDEX Biometrics solutions continue to grow into non-payment markets. 

Throughout the fourth quarter of 2023, MCS plans to offer this innovative battery-free solution to its clients and partners throughout Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe.
