G-AsiaPacific, a subsidiary of K-One Technology Berhad, has been named AWS Partner of the Year Malaysia 2024. This accolade comes as they celebrate the launch of the AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region, marking Malaysia's emergence as a pivotal center for digital transformation in Asia. This recognition also highlights G-AsiaPacific’s third win as AWS Partner of the Year.

The creation of the AWS Region in Malaysia highlights the country's increasing importance in the global technology arena. With world-class cloud infrastructure now available locally, developers, startups, enterprises, as well as government, education, and non-profit organizations, will benefit from enhanced options for running applications and serving end users from AWS data centers in Malaysia. G-AsiaPacific, as an AWS Advanced Tier Partner, is committed to empowering local businesses and public sector organizations to harness advanced cloud technologies effectively.

“Malaysia is poised to become a leader in the digital landscape within ASEAN, and the launch of the new AWS Region plays a critical role in that journey”, said Mark Goh, CEO and Co-founder of G-AsiaPacific. “By providing businesses such as retail and manufacturing, logistics, automotive, healthcare with access to the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud while meeting data residency preferences, we are facilitating faster and more efficient adoption of cloud technologies across industries. This is a significant step towards realizing Malaysia’s vision of becoming a regional digital economy powerhouse”.

The new AWS Region in Malaysia will provide businesses of all sizes from startups and SMEs to large enterprises as well as government and public sector organizations, with the opportunity to innovate at scale, reduce latency, and address data residency requirements. G-AsiaPacific is ideally positioned to assist organizations in leveraging these opportunities, thanks to its extensive expertise in AWS services and cloud advisory. For example, G-AsiaPacific enhanced the e-commerce platform of leading Malaysian retailer Padini, ensuring smooth online shopping experiences even during peak sales periods. This illustrates how the local presence of AWS infrastructure can facilitate faster data processing and cost-effective scalability for businesses.

TF Value Mart, one of Malaysia’s largest retail chains, achieved a 35 percent reduction in infrastructure costs by migrating to AWS in 2018, following recommendations from G-AsiaPacific. They have deployed enterprise resource planning (ERP), backup, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure high availability and stability, resulting in seamless operations and business continuity. To enhance user experience for its employees, TF Value Mart has upgraded most of its virtual machines to Amazon EC2 R5 Instances, which are optimized for memory and offer accelerated performance.
