FWD Group Collaborates with Royal University of Phnom Penh

PhnomPhnom Penh, Cambodia - FWD Group Holdings Limited (FWD Group) announced a collaboration with the Department of Media & Communication at the Royal University of Phnom Penh to enhance financial education in Cambodia. The initiative, revealed at a local business community luncheon in Phnom Penh, aims to provide training to over 100 media practitioners and includes a story-writing competition to raise financial planning awareness.

The collaboration was highlighted during a business delegation visit to Cambodia, led by The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, The Hon Mr John KC Lee, GBM, SBS, PDSM, PMSM, and organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Richard Li Tzar Kai, Chairman of Pacific Century Group, also joined the delegation.

Guanghui Chim, Chief Executive Officer of FWD Cambodia, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “We’re pleased to partner with the Department of Media and Communication at the Royal University of Phnom Penh to help to drive greater awareness and understanding of longer-term financial planning in the community. By teaming up with the well-regarded Department of Media and Communication, we are confident that participating journalists and content creators will use their skill and creativity to bring the concepts of financial literacy to life in an engaging way”, said Chim.

The Department of Media and Communication at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, founded in 2001, is recognized as the first academic training center for communication, journalism, and media in Cambodia. This partnership with FWD is expected to leverage the department’s expertise to effectively promote financial literacy across the country.
