Everest Re Group names new executives for next quarter

Srini Maddineni has been named group chief information officer of Everest Re Group, effective January 16.

Maddineni has thirty years of experience in the financial services and insurance sectors and is currently Everest's SVP and global CIO for insurance and reinsurance systems. Prior to joining Everest, he was CIO, commercial, North America at Chubb, where he led commercial insurance technology and oversaw a team of over 650 professionals worldwide. He has also worked in technology, applications, and customer service at S&P Global, Bank of New York Mellon, and State Street Corporation.

Maddineni will take over for Terry Walker, who is set to retire at the end of the first quarter of 2023.

Maddineni will report to Jim Williamson as group CIO., Everest group chief operating officer.

“Srini is an accomplished executive with significant experience delivering transformative technology capabilities on a global scale,” said Williamson. “He has made a meaningful impact as global CIO of reinsurance and insurance, having led all aspects of systems development across our global businesses. I look forward to collaborating with Srini and his talented team to drive our technology strategy forward.”

Everest also announced the promotion of two IT executives to the position of deputy CIO, both of whom will report to Maddineni:

Hemal Patel, Everest's deputy CIO for corporate applications and services, will oversee the company's corporate systems, shared services, and portfolio management.

Arron Lamp, the deputy CIO for architecture, data, and analytics, will be in charge of IT innovation and digital transformation. “Today’s increasingly complex risk environment demands cutting-edge technology to help our clients navigate their most pressing challenges,” said Juan C. Andrade, Everest president and CEO. “Terry has built an exceptional technology function and we are grateful for his outstanding contributions over the past several years. I am confident that Srini, along with his best-in-class team, is perfectly suited to advance our global IT capabilities and vision for the future.”
