Eric Tham and Tan Jeh Wuan to Serve on Raffles Health Insurance Board

Veteran bankers Eric Tham and Tan Jeh Wuan have been appointed as non-executive independent directors to the board of Raffles Health Insurance, effective February 1.

Commenting on their appointments, Raffles Medical Group executive chairman Loo Choon Yong said: “Their vast experience in the banking and financial sector will contribute positively to the business”.

Tan is a seasoned investment banker who spent 30 years at DBS Bank before retiring in December 2019.

Currently, he serves as chairman of the board at Daiwa House Asset Management Asia and is a director at Digital Core Real Estate Investment Trust Management and Tower Capital Asia. In addition, he holds the position of deputy chairman at the Singapore Exchange (SGX) Listing Advisory Committee.

Previously, Tan was the managing director and head of capital markets in Singapore at DBS, where he oversaw all equity capital markets fundraising transactions for the bank in Singapore. He was also a member of the DBS Singapore Management Committee from 2013 to 2019.

Throughout his career, Tan played a pivotal role in many domestic and international equity fundraising and financial advisory transactions, including initial public offerings, private placements, and rights issues. 

He also played an active role in several financial sector workgroups and committees in Singapore, including the ABS Corporate Finance Standing Committee.

Tan served on the SGX Working Committee during the review of the SGX-ST Listing Manual from 2012 to 2013 and was a member of the SGX Securities Advisory Committee from 2018 to 2019.

In recognition of his contributions to the capital markets industry, he was honored with the title of Institute of Banking and Finance Fellow, Capital Markets, in 2019.
