Doan Quoc Huy Appointed New Chairman of BIM Group
BIM Group, one of Vietnam’s largest multi-sector corporations announced the appointment of Doan Quoc Huy as new chairman, following the passing of his father and predecessor, Doan Quoc Viet.
Former to this appointment, Huy worked as vice chairman and general director of BIM Group. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and has completed a master’s program in construction management at the University of Southern California.
Born in 1984, Huy has been with BIM Group for nearly 20 years, overseeing the company’s core sectors, including real estate, renewable energy, agriculture, and trade services.
At the age of 70 Huy’s father, Doan Quoc Viet, the founder of BIM Group, passed away in November.
Currently, BIM Group ranks among the 10 biggest real estate developers in Vietnam in terms of output. It boasts many projects, such as Park Hyatt Phu Quoc Residences, Regent Phu Quoc, InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, Fraser Suites Hanoi, Sailing Club Residences Ha Long Bay, and Holiday Inn & Suites Vientiane (Laos).
It also produces salt on a 2,500-hectare field in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan, which reportedly accounts for 60-70% of Vietnam’s industrial salt output.
At the salt field, BIM Group has constructed a 500 MW solar and wind power complex that went into commercial operation at the end of 2021. The corporation has invested VND12 trillion ($474.8 million) in projects in Ninh Thuan, focusing on improving at least 1 GW of wind and solar power by 2025.
