DHL Global Forwarding, the freight division of DHL Group, has revealed two strategic appointments for the Asia Pacific region to enhance growth in that area. “With an increasingly complex global economy landscape, we are sharpening our focus on strategic regional growth, particularly in Asia Pacific. These new appointments are key to helping us achieve that, and we are counting on them to help deepen our customer relationships and strengthen our presence in key markets”, said Niki Frank, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific.

Vincent Yong has been appointed as the Managing Director of DHL Global Forwarding Thailand. In his new role, Yong will be situated in Bangkok, Thailand, and will maintain his reporting line to Thomas Tieber, the CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Southeast Asia and South Pacific.

Yong began his journey with DHL in 1998, initially serving as the Regional Head of the Global Bid Team for DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific. Since then, his exceptional performance has propelled him through various leadership roles across the region, including in Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Notably, he assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer for DHL Global Forwarding Thailand from 2006 to 2012, and later transitioned to the position of Head of Technology for DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific in 2015. His most recent role was as the President Director of DHL Global Forwarding Indonesia, a position he held from 2017.

Throughout his time in Indonesia spanning from 2017 to 2024, Yong elevated the local company's annual Earnings before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) consistently. Additionally, he adeptly guided the team through the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Under Yong's direction, DHL Global Forwarding Indonesia has earned certification as a Great Place to Work® since 2022, reinforcing its esteemed status as a premier workplace within the nation.

Anders Hasselstroem has been named the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific. In this role, he will report directly to Frank, with secondary reporting to Thomas George, the Chief Commercial Officer of DHL Global Forwarding. Hasselstroem will be stationed in Singapore.

With two decades of expertise in the international logistics sector, encompassing sales, business development, ocean freight, and general management, Hasselstroem joins DHL Global Forwarding. Prior to his current role, he held the position of Vice President for Sea Logistics APAC at Kuehne+Nagel. During his tenure, he led numerous impactful endeavors, including the introduction of specialized account programs for the Japanese and Korean markets, and the restructuring of sales channels to prioritize the acquisition of new business.

Hasselstroem will assume the regional responsibilities previously held by Piak-Hwee (Piak) Tan, who will maintain his role as Head of Marketing and Sales for Greater China. This change will enable Tan to focus on bolstering China's market recovery efforts. Tan will remain stationed in Shanghai, China, and will report directly to Niki Frank, the interim CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Greater China.
