DBS launches Program aiding SMEs' Global Expansion

Separator

DBS has introduced the Bridging Business Horizons initiative to facilitate the international expansion of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized firms in Singapore and the broader region. This program aims to offer comprehensive support to businesses venturing into new markets, starting with a cohort comprising 1,000 Singaporean and overseas companies.

By capitalizing on DBS's extensive regional presence and collaborating with partner organizations such as the Singapore Business Federation, as well as receiving assistance from government entities like Enterprise Singapore, the initiative seeks to provide a holistic solution for companies seeking to expand their global footprint.

Participating SMEs will benefit from a range of activities, including networking sessions, knowledge-sharing forums, and workshops. DBS emphasizes the importance of in-market engagements, which can facilitate a deeper understanding of target markets such as China, Hong Kong, India, and Indonesia, as well as the opportunity to establish valuable relationships.

Koh Kar Siong, Group Head of Corporate and SME Banking at DBS Institutional Banking, underscores the structured and modular approach of the Bridging Business Horizons program. Leveraging insights gained from previous experiences, combined with support from strategic partners, the initiative aims to empower more companies to effectively scale their operations and navigate the complexities of international expansion.

Through this initiative, DBS demonstrates its commitment to supporting the growth and development of SMEs and mid-sized enterprises, recognizing their vital role in driving economic prosperity both locally and regionally. By fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and access to resources, DBS aims to contribute to the success and sustainability of businesses as they pursue growth opportunities in new markets.
