CSIRO Appoints Kirsten Rose as Deputy Chief Executive
AusCSIRO, Australia's premier national science agency, has appointed Ms. Kirsten Rose to the newly established position of Deputy Chief Executive, as announced today.

Ms. Rose brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having served as CSIRO's Executive Director Future Industries since 2020. In this capacity, she has overseen a multifaceted portfolio encompassing research in crucial sectors such as agriculture, food, human and animal health, biosecurity, and manufacturing. Additionally, she has led teams responsible for delivering national scientific infrastructure and science and innovation-driven services.

Before joining CSIRO, she served as the Head of Innovation, Sustainable Operations at BHP, where she spearheaded global initiatives to address sustainability challenges through the convergence of science, technology, and human capital.
Recognized as a leader in innovation, technology, and gender diversity, Ms. Rose is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering (ATSE) and an active member of Chief Executive Women (CEW). She also holds the position of AmCham governor in Western Australia and serves on various advisory and non-executive directorial boards.
