Citi Private Bank Rebuilds Family Office Team in Asia with Key Hires

Citi Private Bank has appointed Hoo Peng Han as a director of its global family office group in Asia, reinforcing its team in the region. Hoo, who previously held roles at UBS and Credit Suisse, will focus on deal origination and syndication in Asia South.
With a decade of investment banking experience, Hoo brings extensive knowledge of the Asia-Pacific family office ecosystem. During his tenure at Credit Suisse, he was part of the strategic advisory and private assets group, covering family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Following UBS’s acquisition of Credit Suisse, he continued in a similar role at UBS, distributing global private investment opportunities in the region.
Hoo will be based in Singapore alongside director Stephan Lanz. Citi’s expansion efforts will also see the addition of vice-president Alice Chiu in Hong Kong later this month, according to sources familiar with the matter.
These hires come as Citi seeks to strengthen its family office team following a series of high-profile departures. The bank aims to bolster its offerings to key clients in the ultra-wealthy segment, leveraging its new leadership to enhance deal-making and investment syndication across Asia.
Citi’s move reflects the growing competition among global banks to cater to Asia’s booming family office sector, as demand for bespoke investment solutions continues to rise.
