Citi names Tibor Pandi as Singapore Citi Country Officer

Tibor Pandi has been appointed as the Citi Country Officer (CCO) for Singapore, according to a statement from Citi. His appointment will take effect on February 1 and he will be in charge of leading franchise performance while also overseeing all companies and operations in the nation. He will answer to Citi's Head of South Asia and ASEAN, Amol Gupte.

Tibor, a 22-year Citi veteran, currently serves as the CCO for Thailand after being appointed to the position in 2017. He was also charged with leading the Corporate Bank's strategy and execution, which produced significant company development and value-added customer solutions.

Commenting on the appointment, Amol Gupte, Head of South Asia and ASEAN said "We are pleased to appoint Tibor to lead our Singapore business which is a strategic priority for Citi. With his experience and leadership, as well as deep knowledge of the region, clients and business, Tibor is well equipped to build on what we have achieved over 120 years in Singapore and help our clients capture the emerging growth opportunities."

As a Senior Relationship Manager for Citibank Hungary, Tibor joined Citi in 2001. He then held a number of executive positions, including CCO for Romania, CCO for the Romania & Bulgaria Cluster, and Banking Head for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. Speaking English, Hungarian, German, and Serbian, he holds a degree in economic sciences from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences.

In his new role as CCO, Tibor will oversee the in-country implementation of the bank's vision and strategy to become the premier banking partner for organisations with cross-border needs and a global leader in wealth management. He will also spearhead the firm's transformation to give the bank the capability and scale to compete more effectively in the digital era. In addition to serving as Citi's primary regulatory representative in Singapore, he will be in charge of building fruitful client connections at all levels of the company and safeguarding and strengthening Citi's reputation in the nation.
