Citi Malaysia Names Vikram Singh As CEO
Beginning on May 1, 2023, Vikram Singh will assume leadership of the financial services company as its CEO according to sources.
Since he is in charge of the Malaysian franchise's national team and is in charge of the nation's Citi Solutions Centres, VIkram will answer directly to Citi South Asian and Asean CEO Amol Gupte.
Vikram joined the organisation in 1999, and according to Citi, he has 24 years of experience in corporate banking, leading 18 markets in the Asia Pacific region.
He had held a number of executive positions in corporate and investment banking in the Philippines and India.
His most recent position with Citi was as head of Global Subsidiaries Group's Asia Pacific regional account management in Singapore.
"Malaysia is a key market for Citi and has a strong institutional franchise. Vikram's long career and experience with the firm will be invaluable in leading the next stage of growth in a market that also supports many of our global businesses and functions," said Gupte.
Since 1959, Citi has been one of the major foreign banks operating in Malaysia. With more than 5,000 workers, Citi has a fully operational franchise that includes transaction services through the Citi Solutions Centres, corporate banking, treasury and trade, markets and securities services, and securities services.
