Chiness firm, Huawei vows to go greener with Korean partners
According to its senior executive, Huawei Technologies Korea will continue to be dedicated to collaborating with partners to develop eco-friendly and low-carbon technologies in order to meet carbon neutrality targets.
At a year-end press conference held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul, Sun Luyuan, the head of the Chinese internet giant's Korean subsidiary, pledged to work with South Korean partners to create a better, greener digital life in the coming year.
In response to the increasing need for low-carbon electricity generation and electric energy consumption on a worldwide scale, Huawei has developed green technology. ICT, or information and communication technology, have frequently been blamed for carbon footprints due to power consumption and raw material choices, among other things.
Fifth-generation active antenna units, which enable a reduction in power usage of 30% while maintaining the same level of coverage, and intelligent on-demand heating solutions, which reduce energy use by an average of 12%, are two examples of its green technical solution.
The CEO also emphasised that the internet giant's superior security capabilities helped the Korean division win the trust of the local clients because of the corporate policy of placing security above profits.
"More of our clients in this country have expressed their high regard for our product solutions for computing and energy. We aim to actively help our partners here with our strength, allowing digital transformation, he continued.
The CEO claims that over the last ten years, Huawei has spent over $132.5 billion on research and development. About $22.4 billion, or 22.5 percent of the computer giant's yearly sales, was invested in the previous year.
After overcoming a number of obstacles, "Huawei Technologies Korea has shown a solid and strong business performance throughout this year," Sun stated. He also emphasised how the Korean division's ability to efficiently fulfil such pledges to the environmentally friendly data centre storage of its Korean partners was a result of its strong network and advanced technology.
While Huawei serves 3 billion clients across around 170 nations, it has partnered with three significant telecom carriers in this country, including SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus, to offer a range of network technologies and solutions as well as ICT products and services.
The 20th year since Huawei began operating in Korea is this one. According to the chief, Huawei Korea has also imparted its cutting-edge ICT and expertise to the regional sector in keeping with the concept of the Chinese tech giant..
We will continue to cooperate with regional institutions and the ICT academic community in an open and welcoming manner in order to support bright researchers in Korea and to give more students the chance to take part in Huawei's ICT training programme.
