Separator

Chinese businessmen have expressed strong interest in collaborating with Russian technology companies, according to Alexey Govyrin, a member of Russia’s State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-Sized Businesses. Speaking on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2024), Govyrin emphasized the potential of this cooperation, highlighting China’s willingness to establish production facilities in Russia and share its expertise in developing privately funded technology parks.

“China is actively entering the Russian market and is keen on partnering with our tech companies. Their experience in building technology parks is particularly valuable for us, as it can enhance Russia’s export potential”, Govyrin stated. He added that technology parks are critical for the dynamic development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Russia.

This collaboration aligns with the goals set by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has tasked the country with increasing the number of industrial technology parks to at least 100 by 2030. These parks are seen as vital to fostering innovation and growth among Russian SMEs.

The Eastern Economic Forum, held from September 3-6, 2024, at the Far Eastern Federal University campus in Vladivostok, focused on the theme 'Far East 2030: Combining Strengths to Create New Potential'. Since its inception in 2015, the EEF has become one of Russia's largest international conferences. It serves as a platform for promoting the development of Russia’s Far East, expanding international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, and showcasing the region’s investment opportunities, including the Vladivostok free port and other rapidly progressing territories.
