BW Digital and Citramas Group have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the creation of a carrier-neutral digital ecosystem within Batam's Nongsa Digital Park (NDP), located in Indonesia. This significant partnership comes after BW Digital's purchase of over 55,000 square meters of land within Citramas-owned Nongsa Digital Park in Batam. The purpose is to construct BW Digital's first data center in Southeast Asia, enhancing its portfolio of digital infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region.

Featuring a capacity of up to 80MW, the forthcoming data center will be engineered to accommodate high-density needs, offering scalable solutions tailored for enterprise, cloud, and AI operations. Additionally, it will assist clients in attaining their objectives concerning carbon neutrality and overall sustainability. As collaborative partners, BW Digital and Citramas Group will collaborate to provide an extensive range of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions, all housed within BW Digital's data center.

Clients will be granted access to a distinctive array of technological resources and services, comprising landing infrastructure for emerging submarine cables, both international and domestic connectivity options, data storage amenities, and computational capabilities for the advancement of artificial intelligence and machine learning endeavors.

"BW Digital is pleased to forge a strategic alliance with Citramas Group, underpinned by our shared vision to drive business success with best-in-class digital solutions for the fast-growing South East Asian economy", BW Digital CEO Ludovic Hutier said.

"We hope to accelerate the growth of Nongsa Digital Park as an emerging hub for innovation and technology. This new step anchors BW Digital's long-term vision to create a neutral and trusted digital ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region, in tandem with the development of Hawaiki Nui, our new subsea cable, which will first connect South East Asia and Australasia".

Mike Wiluan, CEO of Citramas Group, emphasized that BW Digital's proficiency and track record in this domain significantly enhance NDP's positioning as a pivotal data center hub in the region, fostering connectivity between Indonesia and vital global markets. "This partnership will enhance NDP's status as a centre of excellence in the digital arena, providing more opportunities to our multinational tenants and partners to evolve their digital ambitions in Indonesia and beyond", Wiluan said.
