Bum Seok Austin Kim Named CEO of Woowa Brothers, Delivery Hero’s Korean Subsidiary
Delivery Hero SE, the global leader in local delivery platforms, has announced the appointment of Bum Seok Austin Kim as the CEO of Woowa Brothers, its Korean subsidiary that operates the online delivery service Baedal Minjok (Baemin), effective immediately.
Bum Seok Austin Kim has been appointed by Woowa’s Board of Directors, succeeding Pieter-Jan Vandepitte, Delivery Hero’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), who had served as interim CEO of Woowa Brothers since July 2024.
Commenting on Austin’s appointment, Pieter-Jan Vandepitte, Delivery Hero’s COO, said, “With Austin’s outstanding entrepreneurial experience and proven track record in the platform delivery technology sector, we are confident that he will drive Woowa’s next chapter of innovation and profitable growth in Korea. His leadership is an exciting step forward as we continue to strengthen our position in this dynamic market”.
Before joining Woowa Brothers, Kim held several senior leadership positions at global on-demand platforms, where he played a key role in the successful launch of the food delivery platform Glovo and ride-hailing app Uber in Turkey. Over the last five years, he served as the founding CEO of Trendyol Go, a leading e-commerce platform in Turkey. Austin Kim holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Economics from George Washington University in the United States.
